About Art Unit - época

Art Unit - época is an art unit of two members with completely different background. The members, Kuni and Mai have started their activities in 2013 in Hamamatsu. They have had their shows every year from 2013 to 2018. The objective of Art Unit - época is to destroy stereotypes that exist in the society, or in our own brains, and stimulate each other to be more creative. They are planning new shows soon (TBD).

Our vision

　Have you ever felt suffocating in the society and unconsciously suppress your mind?

Art Unit - época wants to unleash people's mind with some sort of restrictions, and share our activities to let know that expressing ourselves more freely and destroying stereotypes feel great.

If you thought the photograph on the right (or above if you're using a smart phone) is someone's butt, you might be having a stereotype?!

クリエート浜松 30周年記念／The 30th anniversary of Create Hamamatsu

浜松市内にある「クリエート浜松」の30周年記念イベントのために、Art Unit - época が制作させていただ巨大コラージュと巨大双六（床部分。浜松市の形をしています）の展示作業の記録です。 Create Hamamatsu is a general facility where citizens of Hamamatsu rent galleries and stages. The place was celebrating the 30th anniversary, and Art Unit - época created a huge photo collage and giant "Parcheesi" on the floor.

Kuni's stage 2017

Kuni オリジナル曲を、ボーカル、ギター、パーカッション、足鍵盤ベースで奏でます。ハーモニカ（間奏）も聴きどころ！ Kuni is a vocalist and multiple instrument player. He plays his original song with guitar, percussion, base, and harmonica (while he's not singing, of course).
